published as the critically acclaimed 'When I Go To Work I Feel Guilty', the interest
in the strategies encouraged us to republish this book with an emphasis on how
to boost and sustain that all-important commodity - energy! Exploring what increases
or robs us of energy, here is an in-depth self-help book to help you examine the
balance in your life and which areas need some attention. Looking at your relationship
with yourself, your children and your work, every page offers food for thought
and inspiration to take skilful steps towards that goal of 'boosted energy'.

This
self-help book, based on Personal Power, takes the themes of self-esteem, stress,
assertiveness and self- management and develops them much further. With additional
information sections, it helps clarify decisions about what you need or want,
how you might get there and what might help or hinder your progress. With stepping
stones for building self-esteem and strategies for challenging negative thinking
'blocks', here is another excellent book to help you assess whether you are supporting
or thwarting the success you deserve. (Positive Press 224pp)
Gillibrand
and Mosley assert that their book is written for and by women, but he excellent
and sound advice that appears is hardly gender specific but is rather about taking
care of yourself, being positive and setting out a written contract with yourself--they
describe 'the upward spiral of sound self- esteem' and also describe 'the downward
spiral of self-esteem'-..You may need some support to move on--then go for self-help
and get the book 'She Who Dares Wins'. -

| Co-directors
of Career Development Counsellors, Jenny and Eileen wrote Personal Power to complement
their counselling and career development programmes for women (although this book
could also be valuable to men). Commencing with an exploration of self-esteem
and its impact on our life, this A4 workbook is packed with self- assessment exercises
about assertiveness, handling stress, time management and more. Focused examples
and planning charts support you in planning and working on the elements that could
empower you. Low on waffle and high on information and action, this is a shorter
and lower-priced version of She Who Dares Wins for those who want to see if 'self-help'
is for them. (Positive Press 194pp) |
